The Ease of Life with Laser Hair Removal

Embrace the Laser, Embrace the Freedom

Time is always of the essence and to simplify your daily routine, consider laser hair removal. Laser hair removal provides permanent hair reduction of unwanted hair on most body parts.  Although it is a process one must commit to for a period of time, the results are often life changing and never regretted. Our laser hair removal clients range from military and first responders (who are required to  shave daily), to young adults who have an excessive amount of hair, to women with PCOS, to adults who are… well, just over shaving! We have also found that an added benefit to laser hair removal is in many cases our clients report a significant improvement in their acne.  At Radiance we are always looking for ways to boost the confidence and self esteem of all of our clients. Laser hair removal remains one of our most popular tools to accomplish that and much more.

Laser Hair Removal, which is also correctly termed Laser Hair Reduction as it reduces hair 70-90%. Laser hair removal systems beam highly-concentrated rays of light into hair follicles. Pigment in the follicles absorb the light, which then destroys the hair cells. Differences in the energy, intensity and speed are used to treat different skin tones. The Motus, MoveoHR offers high-speed Alexandrite wavelength 755nm that makes it possible for light AND dark skin tones to benefit from the effectiveness of this laser wavelength. Moveo technology uses simple, continuous movements with a contact cooling system to deliver a precise dosage of energy, while minimizing surrounding tissue and providing a painless experience. For the smaller, more precise or difficult areas of concern, the Motus allows the technicians to quickly switch to a more traditional wavelength, the 1064nm. The versatility, effectiveness and relatively  painless approach given by the Motus AZ should encourage all clients to begin, continue or maintain your hair reduction/removal needs.

Results are often seen after the first session.  The hairs treated will naturally shed or purge over the following two weeks, revealing a much slower growing and finer hair.  Overtime and with more sessions, areas of bare patches and no growth will occur. The results improve with each session.  Our staff will assist in determining when you are considered to be at a maintenance level for the area treated.

Important Facts to consider:

  • A medical history is reviewed by our staff prior to a client beginning laser hair removal
  • Appropriate for ALL skin types
  • NOT effective on Grey/White/Red/Blonde hairs, hairs must be dark in color
  • Comfortable treatment, relatively pain FREE
  • Requires multiple treatments with average of 8-12 sessions to obtain optimal results
  • Treatments are spaced at 4-8 week intervals depending upon the area being treated
  • Requires annual maintenance treatments or customized per client needs
  • Hair must be shaved/trimmed as close to skin as possible either the day before or the day of treatment
  • Limit plucking, waxing and electrolysis 2-4 weeks prior to starting treatments and stop during treatments
  • Between sessions, you may shave or trim the area
  • Anyone who has recently tanned, spray tanned, used self- tanner or has gone in a tanning booth should wait until the tan has completely faded
  • Anyone being treated for a medical condition with antibiotics or steroids should discuss this with the laser technician prior to having treatment
  • Different genetic predispositions can affect the success of laser treatments such as fluctuating hormone levels, menopause or PCOS

After Treatment Considerations:
It is normal to experience redness and swelling in the treatment area following laser hair removal, which may persist for several days. However, not all clients will have this experience.

  • The treated area may feel like a razor burn or sunburn for a few hours after treatment.
  • Over-the-counter hydrocortisone or aloe vera may be used to alleviate redness and irritation.

Hair in the treated area will slowly shed, typically over the course of two weeks.

  • Patchiness of hair growth is normal, and will dissipate towards the completion of your laser hair removal treatment series.

Do not pluck, wax, or use depilatories between treatments.  You may shave or trim hairs.

  • Avoid skin irritants for two days post treatment to the treated area, for example: products containing tretinoin, retinol, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic/salicylic acids.

In conclusion, laser hair reduction can guarantee long-term results with minimal to no side effects.  The commitment to 8-12 sessions is worth the effort to have smooth skin, no irritation or bumps and a new sense of confidence.  Our lives are busy enough and we have a tool to assist you in recovering precious time for yourself, your loved ones and your family.  We at Radiance are always happy to provide a complimentary consultation if you have more questions or concerns.
