NEW! Sylfirm X, Microneedling + Radio Frequency

  • What is Radio Frequency?

Radio Frequency provides heat that stimulates collagen production, which has been found to lead to tighter and younger skin.

  • How does the treatment feel?

Topical numbing agent is applied for optimal comfort. The feeling is described by most patients as comfortable with no pain, only a slight tingling sensation with light pressure. This feeling can vary based on the depth and area being treated.

  • How many treatments are needed?

Typically three treatments will provide the best outcome followed by yearly maintenance,  but this can vary based on each individual.

  • How long does the treatment take?

Depending on the area being treated the treatment could take as little as 45 minutes and up to 2 hours, which includes the time it takes to properly allow the lidocaine to set in.

  • How long do the results last?

Everyone is different, but the collagen you make is your own and continues accelerated production over three months.

  • What are Exosomes?

Exosome treatments are based on the most cutting edge scientific biotech breakthrough for skin rejuvenation and regeneration. Exosomes are responsible for cell to cell communication and for facilitating the exchange of RNA and other important proteins between cells (e.g. fibroblasts, keratinocytes, immune cells, etc.), in addition to transferring numerous growth factors and cytokines and genetic materials that have shown signs of tissue repair and improving skin cells.

  • What is the function of Exosomes?

The major role of exosomes is to carry the information by delivering various effectors or signaling molecules between specific cells.

  • How are the Exosomes sourced?

Exosomes are sourced from Human Adipose Tissue Cell Exosome. There are no known reported drawbacks from adipose tissue.

Advanced Skincare

  • What is the Plasma Pen Treatment?

This minimally invasive treatment can unlock the skin's potential for youthfulness and tighter, smoother skin with long-lasting results and high client satisfaction.

  • What are the main areas treated with the Plasma Pen?

    • Undereyes
    • Crows feet (wrinkles on the side of the eye)
    • Mouth, chin, and jowl area
    • Neck and chest
    • Any area with skin laxity or undesired skin texture

  • How does the Plasma Pen work?

The compact, handheld PlasmaMD device emits plasma energy which reacts with the nitrogen molecules in the air from up to 1mm away.  Our proprietary ARC Energy Technology actually creates an energetic burst in the shape of an arc between the device and the skin for purposeful and precise outcomes. This unique delivery method provides maximum results and the ultimate anti-aging solutions.

  • How long does the Plasma Pen treatment take?

The total treatment time varies based on the size and quantity of areas being treated. On average the treatment is about 60-120 minutes including the application of the topical numbing cream.

  • What is the downtime associated with the Plasma Pen?

    • Treatments cause immediate scabs to develop that will take 7-14 days to fall off.  This is considered “downtime” and you may not want to schedule any events during this timeframe.
    • Mild to moderate swelling/edema is expected for about 48 hours post-treatment. Moderate to excessive swelling is expected around the eye area.

  • Is the Plasma Pen treatment painful?

    • Clients are numbed in the area treated twice with a topical numbing agent.  Some areas are more sensitive than others.  The eye area is typically the most sensitive.
    • Clients can expect minimal discomfort and often describe the treatment as mildly tingly with warm sensations.
  • How long does it take to see results of the Plasma Pen?

    • The maximum result is seen at 12 weeks although some results are visible at 3 weeks.
    • Results last an average of 3 years.  However, the skin is continually aging.

  • What do I have to be aware of before the Plasma Pen treatment?

    • A thorough health history must be obtained.  There are certain medical conditions that require caution or cause the client to not be a candidate for the Plasma Pen.
    • No sun exposure including sun-tanning, sun-spraying, and sunbeds for a minimum of 4 weeks before treatment.
    • Avoid other procedures 3-4 weeks on the SAME area which will be treated, including laser therapy, chemical peels, and Botox/fillers.
    • Discontinue Retin-A or any retinol products a minimum of 7 days prior to treatment.
    • Remove contact lenses and any eyelash extensions prior to treatment.

  • What do I have to be aware of immediately after the Plasma Pen treatment?

  • What do I have to be aware of following the Plasma Pen treatment?

    • Avoid excessive sweating for 5-7 days during the healing process.
    • Use ONLY  Factor Five Serum (given to you at time of treatment) 2-4x day for the first 7-10 days. Do not use ANY other products.  It is normal to feel stinging/tingling sensation when applying Factor Five.  Do not leave scabs dry.  Use serum to keep skin protected and promote faster healing.
    • Use only lukewarm water to area and pat dry gently.  NO cleansers until day 7-10.
    • Do not use makeup in the treated area for 7 days or until scabs fall off.
    • Do not use cold packs or ice packs for swelling.  Icing will diminish the outcome. Inflammation helps to have greater results. If swelling persists over 7 days, contact the treatment provider.
    • You may sleep on your back with your head elevated to minimize swelling. If the eye area is treated, sleep with your head elevated for 7 days to decrease swelling.
    • Do not apply bandages or occlusive dressings to the treated area.

    • Shaving should be avoided in the treatment area until it is fully healed.
    • Do not use any skincare products that contain perfume, alcohol, or acids.
    • Do NOT rub, pick, or abrade the area.  This will cause scarring.
    • Do not use any exfoliators.
    • Allow the scabs to fall off naturally. Do NOT PICK.

    • Avoid smoking and alcohol.
    • Do not have other facial treatments for 12 weeks in the treated area.

  • What is the goal of a Chemical Peel?

Chemical peels speed up the exfoliation process, encouraging cell turnover that leaves the skin looking fresh and healthy.

As a result, chemical peels promote the growth of a new healthy top skin layer and improve skin problems like hyperpigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, uneven texture and skin impurities.

  • Are Chemical Peels safe?

Yes, when performed correctly by a certified, experienced Esthetic Nurse, a chemical peel is both safe and effective. However, it is a clinical procedure. As such, there is a potential for associated risks.

As a professional skincare clinic, we will not perform any procedures without first assessing your medical history, current health condition and potential for complications.

Injectables

  • What are Botox and Dysport used for?

Botox and Dysport are neuromodulators meant to relax the dynamic movement of the facial muscles. Once the muscles are relaxed, wrinkles and fine lines begin to smooth and eventually may disappear.

Botox and Dysport also prevent the onset of new wrinkles forming and are used as a form of preventative skin maintenance.

  • Botox VS Dysport?

Botox and Dysport are both neuromodulators meant to relax muscles, prevent dynamic facial movements, and smooth fine lines and wrinkles. While both are wonderful products, we prefer to use Dysport as our primary wrinkle relaxer.

Dysport takes an average of 4 days to begin seeing results and 10 days for maximum results.

Botox takes 7 days to begin seeing results and 10 days for maximum results. Dysport gives the client a more natural look and Botox gives the client a more frozen look.

  • What are the side effects and risks of Botox or Dysport?

When injected by an aesthetically trained, licensed medical professional, both Botox and Dysport are safe. Both products are FDA approved and are injected by a RN with extensive aesthetic training.

Common side effects of Botox and Dysport may include bruising, redness, or soreness at the injection site.

There is the possibility of the brow either “spocking” or dropping once the wrinkle relaxer has set in, however both are adjustable. Risk of a common side effect or an adverse event may depend on the area being treated and your medical history.

This will be discussed as part of your consultation with your injector prior to being injected.

  • What does Botox or Dysport feel like?

Your comfort is one of our injector’s top priorities! Because everyone’s pain tolerance is different, it is hard to say whether injectables are going to hurt you.

Dysport or Botox injections are typically the least painful due to the small needle size and may feel like quick, tiny pinches. To ease your discomfort, ice or vibratory distraction devices can be used.

  • What is a Lip Flip?

A small amount of Botox / Dysport is injected around the upper lip to make the lips appear more full.  Results depend on clients request.

  • Where can I get Kybella injections to destroy fat?

Kybella is the only FDA-approved injectable treatment that destroys fat cells in the treatment area under the chin to improve your profile. Kybella is most effective when used on small to medium pockets of fat. Firm, full, areas respond best to this treatment.  See the "Kybella Explained" page for other areas clients choose to get Kybella injections to destroy fat.

Laser

  • How long is a session of Laser Hair Removal?

Laser Hair Removal sessions are quick and easy!

Depending on the area of the body you are treating, appointments range from 10-30 minutes. Your appointment may be longer if you are treating more than one area of the body.

  • How many sessions of Laser Hair Removal are necessary?

Laser Hair Removal is a cumulative process that requires the hair follicle to be damaged multiple times.

The number of sessions required to permanently reduce hair growth does depend on the area of the body and the client’s health history.

At Radiance Advanced Skincare & Laser, we estimate 8-10 sessions are necessary for desired results.

As a professional skincare clinic, we will not perform any procedures without first assessing your medical history, current health condition and potential for complications.

  • Is Laser Hair Removal permanent?

Laser Hair Removal is permanent hair reduction. Once an area has fully been treated, there will be a 90% loss of hair in the area.

Most people will see this level of reduction throughout the years, however hormone changes (such as pregnancy) can cause regrowth.

Touch ups are necessary to maintain hair reduction on a yearly basis.

Self-tanner affecting services

  • Can I use Tanning Beds before/during Laser or Advanced Skincare Treatments such as Intense Pulsed Light Therapy, Laser Hair Removal, or Plasma Pen?

Avoid tanning beds for at least two weeks before your treatment and two weeks following treatment.

Tanning increases the melanin in the skin making it difficult for the laser to distinguish between skin and hair. The skin must be at its natural color to avoid skin burning, blistering, and skin damage during treatment.

  • Why can’t I use fake/self tan before/during Laser or Advanced Skincare Treatments?

The tanning lotion will work to absorb the laser energy rather than the hair follicle, increasing risk of blisters and burns due to excessive light energy absorption, and decreasing the efficiency of the treatment.

To ensure that all tanning lotions are completely removed from the treatment site, it is recommended that you stop applying the tanning lotion at least 7-10 days prior to treatment.

If you have particularly dry skin, please note that the tan will take longer to fade so allow a longer period for residue to be completely removed.

We also recommend waiting 4-5 days after your treatment to apply tanning lotions.

  • Can I apply any topical products to the treatment area on the day of treatment (lotions, oils, moisturizers, or creams)?

No, skin must be free from any topical products on the day of treatment so the treatment is as effective as possible.
